This research was developed in a 15 years old rubber-tree plantation (RRIM 600), located in the municipality of José Bonifácio, São Paulo State. The reasearch evaluate the rain redistribution between August 1996 and July 1997 (water year 1996/1997). It was estimated the gross and net precipitation, the throughfall, the stemflow and the crown interception loss. Non-recording rain gauges were installed at an open area and under the rubber tree canopy. Stemflow collectors were installed at the stem of the trees. The annual average rain precipitation was 1,514.5 mm, the throughfall was 1,065.7 mm and the stemflow was 107.7 mm. The crown interception loss and the effective precipitation resulted in 341.1 and 1,173.4 mm respectively, corresponding to 22.5% and 75.5% of the total rain precipitation.
