Abstract

The Atlantic Rain Forest - a complex that covers a diversity of life very expressiva - has subject of intense degradation. ln consequence the genetic reserve of many species has been seriously threatened. ln thiswork causes and consequences of this forestry qualitative endangerment are discussed, aswell the urgent necessity of adopting strategies for its recuperation. Three lines of action are pointed out: i) the preservation of primary forests; ii) the improvement of secondary formations and; iii) the recuperation of degenerated areas. These questions are discussed based on interactions among plants and animais of this ecosystem, with the aim of biodiversity conservation. Besides it is discussed the possibility of the management of some species as an economic alternativa of these forests. The conditions for the exploration and conservation of the Atlantic Rain Forest are also evaluated.
