The reproductive phenology of Couratari stellata A. C. Smith was studied in the Tapajós National Forest from February 1985 to December of 1989. Every fortnight the following stages were observed and evaluated: flowering, fruiting, dissemination and leaf fali. Flowering predominantly occurs from October until January. Fruiting and dissemination, meanWhile, respectively occur from December to May and from February to May. This coincides with the period of highest rainfall. Total leaf fall typical of deciduous species was verified. These various phenological phases were influenced by precipitation.
