LEVANTAMENTO DA ESTRUTURA DA MATA ATLÂNTICA DE ENCOSTA NA FAZENDA FAXINAL PARA FINS DE MANEJO NATURAL

Abstract

This study, conducted through an agreement between the University of Blumenau and the Florestal RH Ltda., is part of the "Multiple Use, through Natural Management, of the Forest Resources at Fazenda Faxinai", with its area of 228 ha, is located in the southern region of Blumenau, at heights that oscillate between 480 and 950 m.n.m. lt is covered by the Hillside Atlantic Forest. The survey of the structure of the Forest at Fazenda Faxinai is part of a major program dealing with the providing of scientific and technical subsidies for and economic exploitation plan of the forest resources in the form of natural management. ln order to manage the survey of the forest structure, the BRAWN-BLANQUET's Pareei Method (1966) was basically used, which was adapted to the physiographical conditions of the area under study. This study shows some aspects of the structure of the Hillside Atlantic at Fazenda Faxinai, such as frequency, abundance and dominance, absolute and relative ones, and lhe lmportance Value lndex (I.V.I.) of the species surveyed.
