Megaplatypus mutatus (Chapuis) is native from South America and it is a primary pest of native and exotic trees. In the county of Campinas, state of São Paulo, during research carried out in the years of 2004, 2005 and 2006 aiming at to discover the cause of the mortality of trees that compose the canopy of fragments of Semideciduous Forest in the Bosque dos Jequitibás and Mata Santa Genebra, was collected material associated with some species still not recorded in the literature. Schizolobium parahyba (Vell.) S. F. Blake, Enterolobium contortisiliquum (Vell.) Morong, Livistona chinensis (Jacq.) R. Br., Caesalpinia pluviosa (Benth.) DC., Pittosporum undulatum Vent., Delonix regia (Bojer ex Hook) Raf., Mangifera indica L., Croton floribundus Spreng., Croton piptocalyx Müll. Arg., Cariniana legalis (Mart.) Kuntze, Luetzelburgia guaissara Toledo, Piptadenia gonoacantha (Mart.) J. F. Macbr., Ficus benjamina L., Platypodium elegans Vogel, Cariniana estrellensis (Raddi ) Kuntze, Machaerium stipitatum (DC.) Vogel, Centrolobium tomentosum Guillemin ex Benth., Pachira aquatica Aubl., Inga cf. vera Willd. ssp. affinis (DC.) T.D. Penn., are recorded for the first time in the state of São Paulo as hosts of M. mutatus. It is related host plants referred in bibliography also.
