The advancement of exotic pests of Eucalyptus in Brazil is increasing. The blue gum chalcid wasp (Leptocybe invasa Fisher & La Salle) is already found in nine Brazilian states and there is still no effective control method. The purpose of this study was to determine the efficiency of systemic insecticides to control Leptocybe invasa in nursery seedlings. The experiment was conducted in the nursery of ESALQ/USP, in Piracicaba–SP, with seedlings of Eucalyptus camaldulensis. The test used the insecticides Imidacloprid and Thiamethoxam at doses 4.1, 8.3 and 12.5 g.m-2 and 37.5, 75 and 112.5 g.m-2. Efficiency was determined by the total galls found in seedlings. The insecticides showed efficiency of 84.41% and 61.03% at doses of 12.5 g.m-2 and 112.5 g.m-2. The residual period of insecticides ranged from four to eight weeks with no manifestation of phytotoxicity. The Imidacloprid obtained better results than Thiamethoxam, both in efficiency and in the residual effect.
