Abstract

Inheritance and gametic disequilibrium were studied between 11 polymorphic loci of the eight isozymes systems from open-pollinated families of two Eschweilera ovata (Bambess.) Miers (biriba) populations from Bahia State. Segregation analysis of families from heterozygote trees revealed simple mendelian inheritance for eleven loci (Acp-1, Dia-1, Dia-2, Dia-3, G6pdh-1, Mdh-1, Nadh-1, Nadh-2, Pgi-1, Pgi-2 and 6pgdh-1). Gene segregation at these loci was generally homogeneous among trees. However, there were significant deviations from the expected segregations ratio 1:1 at some individual trees. Significant gametic disequilibrium was observed for three pairs of loci: 6pgdh-1:Pgi-2, Dia-1:Dia-2 and Dia-2:Dia-3.
