The aim of this study was to compare two different models with estimate the percentage of wood obtained by quotient between volume of a tree without bark and volume of a tree with bark ( K 1 ) with two different models: K 22, obtained by the square of mean of the values along the steam and K 23 , the simplified model, obtained by only two measures: the square of the quotient between DBH without bark and DBH with bark. Effectuated the statistical analysis by analysis of variance procedure, Tukey’s Test and sum of relatives values of deviation, it was concluded that the best model to calculate the percentage of wood is the one obtained by the quotient between the volume without bark and the volume with bark.
