Several simulations of alternate plants and sele tive thinnings were made on three ages gum yield data of a half-sib progeny test of Pinus elliottii var. elliottii . It was possible to estima te genetic parameters and study the changes on these parameters. Estimates were made on simulation age data and on the resultant other ages data. In the 50 % alterna te trees thinning no high changes on genetic parameters were noted. Sele tive and alternate selecting the best tree thinnings, caused strong changes on estimate genetic parameters. In general, the estimates decreased when the alternate selecting the best tree thinnings were simulated and increased as effect of the entirely seletive thinnings.
