GERMINAÇÃO DE SEMENTES DE CANELA-PRETA (Ocotea catharinensis Mez-LAURACEAE) SOB DIFERENTES CONDIÇÕES DE LUZ E TEMPERATURA

The germination of Ocotea catharinensis seeds was stud1ed under white, red and far-red light, as well as in the dark and submitted to the constant of 20ºC and altemate of 20-25ºC temperatures. The gennination tests were installed with four repetitions of 20 seeds on vermiculite. The counting of the germinated seeds began on the 18 day after the installation and was repeated every seven days until the end of the tests, after 81 days. lt was evaluated the seeds percentage and speed of germihation and the results showed that the interact1on of light and temperature was not significant. A high percentage of gennination under the different conditions of light and temperature tested was obtained. However, the seeds tenâed to germinate best at 20ºC, in the dark as well as under far-red light. Under these conditions, the gemünation test may last 39 days.
