This paper refers to a forest fragment !)hytosociology at the Peixe river borders 111 the âistrict of Lindóia, at 22º 32'S and 46º 58'WG, with altitude between 720 and 760 m. The study area occupies a surface with 7.5 ha in a mountain region, beginning near river and stretching out to a hillside about 300 m. The vegetation is classified as semideciduous mesophytic forest and it is well preserved. They were settled 22 plots of l O m x 20 m into the study area: 11 into the riparian forest and 11 at the hillside area. Ali the trees with diameter equal or over 5.0 cm DBH were sampled. They were sampled 108 species and 50 of them had the same form for both environmental arcas, with 26 species restricted to hillsidA and 32 species restricted to riparian forest. The p.iytosociological parameters from these two sites have been confronted among themselves and data from other places. There was no floristic and structural difference between those sites. Method and difficulty for development of this study were just treated.
