This work refers to the correlation study bctwcen some biometrical paramctcrs of vegctation and edaphic factors from semideciduous mesophitic forest of altitude that occurs in Statc Reserve of Aguas da Prata, State of São Paulo (210 55' S and 46°42'W). The soil samples werc analyzed for the following chemical and physical propertics: P, organic matter, pH, K, Ca, Mg, H+AI, bases content, cation exchange capacity (CEC), bases saturation (V%) exchangeable aluminium, coarse sand, fine sand, silt and elay. The following biometrical parameters of vegetation were used to correlation: average height, number of trees per hectare, mean diameter, basal arca, cylindric volume and species diversity. The most important soil factors related to vegetation dcvelopment were: CEC, bases content, H+AI, Ca, P, pH, clay, silt, fine sand and coarse sand
