The objective of this work is to test several trees, shrubs and herbs on degradated are a of landfill, where refuses, were covered by soil, emanating, gas and residues from organic decomposition. The area consist of 121.800 rn", district of São Miguel Paulista, São Paulo city, showing ateady soil by a stream, the Jacuí river and 3 steps of landfill where refuses are covered with 0,70 m of clay soil and over this 0,1°m ofvegetal soil spread. We intend to conclude some questions as: Which factors are limitant to the vegetation adaptation? Which species are resistent to this situation of degradated area.
