This study presents the socio-economic characteristics of the community in the Ariri region, in the different reserves of the Cardoso Island State Park and Cananéia. Environmental Protection Area (A.PA), wich are located on State of São Paulo south coast (48°W, 25°S) .The determinants of current situation are analyzed taking into consideration the possibility of to conciliate sustained development and natural resources conservation. This development will be achieved by a team-work with community trough ambiental conscientious.
