In the tal! forest of the Parque Estadual de Campos do Jordão, in a special place where food was constantly distribuited to birds and mammals for years, it was observed that the brazilian squirrel Sciurus aestuans hoarded brazilian pine (Araucaria angustifolia) seeds by burrowing them in a certain distance from the food source.
