VARIAÇÃO NO PERÍODO GERMINATIVO EM SEMENTES DE EUTERPE EDULIS MARTIUS PROCEDENTES DA REGIÃO DE MORRETES-PR

Variations in the germinative period of seeds may reveal adaptive strategies that are related to adverse ambientto the establishment of seedling bank in Euterpe edulis natural populations. The aim of this work is to detect the existent variation in Euterpe edulis seeds Irorn the Morretes region, PR. Seeds of 20 plants were evaluated in terms of germination capacity. The results indicated an expressive variation between plants. Quadratic model in the relation germination period was obtained. There results suggest the existence of a transient seedling bank, with duration lesserthan one year, allowing the continuous supply to the seedling bank and the occurrence of secondary dispersion.
