Abstract

In these study were used datas from caatinga vegetation localized in the Experimental Forest Station (EFLEX) belong to IBAMA in Açu-RN. The ·structural parameters analysed were the following: density, frequency, dominance, distribution of diameter, sociological position and natural regeneration. II was searched by estimatives lhe phytosociological parameters interpretation and diameter structural; basic informations forthe forest management and definition of a methodology for a plan of preliminar management of lhe presen! area. The species more frequent ls Caesalpinia pyramidalis Tul. (Catingueira). Taking into account the trees with dbh, 5 cm, the forest on an average presented 853 trees/ha e 9.8310 m2/ha basal area. The majority of the species show and irregular sociological position and poor regeneration. Some recommendations were given to studythe dinamics of these forest; such as the continuation the studies in structural and causes of deficient regeneration of the most usual species.
