The aim of this work was to register the field and laboratory perfonnance of canafistula seeds in presence of different temperatures and growth regulators. The experiments were carried out with scarified seeds (sulfuric acid, 98% during 20 min.), Different test-solutions: Captan (0.2%) (control group); GA3 20 and 40Pl'm (+ Captan 0.2%); 3.40 10, 100, and 1000ppm (+ Captan 0.2%) were employed. The seeds were planted at 2 em depth afier imbibition during 24 h in different test solutions. The imbibition in 3.40 1000ppm reduced the emergence !ercentage. The seedling dry matter was reduce afie r pre-imbibition on 3.40 solutions and seedlings death was observed, around 16 days after emergence when 3.40 100 and 1000ppm were used. GA3 (20 or 40ppm) promoted a significant improvement on field performance for abnormal seedlings. Both GA3 concentrations increased germination percentage, under 12°C (minimal gennination limit), but no increase on rate emergence was registered. Under 24, 27, 30°C (sub-optimal, optimal and supra-optimal temperatures), the growth regulators were not effective to enhance the germinative process.
