This is a study about the "jatobá" (Hymenaea courbaril varo stilbocarpa) behaviour consorciated with Pinus elliottii var. elliottii planted in 1958, under arboretum conditions. It was verified that the "jatobá" was totally dominated by Pinus, because this last one presents rapid growth and no managementwas made. The firstthinning was made in 1988, when 40% of Pinus was elirninated and then once every 4 years will be made the subsequent thinnings until its total elirnination, as well as the "jatobá" behaviour avaliation.
