ECONOMIC ANALYSIS IN REFLORESTATION PROJECTS UNDER TWO MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

This work aimed to evaluate the economic viability of clonal eucalypt stands submitted to two management regimes (clear cut and coppicing), as well as to carry out a sensitivity analysis to infer the possible risks related to the evaluated projects. The indicators evaluated (NPV, EPV, B/C, IRR, SEV and ACP) showed economic viability for the management regimes adopted. The forest productivity was similar, with costs at 57% higher in the clear cut regime. It’s contributed to a better scenario of economic viability in the coppicing regime. We observed in the sensitivity analysis that an increase of 1% increase in annual interest rates reduced NPV in U$S 127.56 ha-1 and U$S 98.31 ha-1, respectively for clear cut and Coppicing regimes. Considering 10% increase in the IMA, there was decrease of R$ 1.20 and R$ 1.01 in the average cost of production, respectively for clear cut and Coppicing regimes. The coppicing regime became more attractive, due to cost reduction (not including forest implantation process) and small difference in the productivity between two management regimes evaluated.
