It is recorded for the first time the occurence of the defoliator Eupithecia, probably a new species, attacking on lhe indigenous brazilian conifersAraucaria angustifolia (pinheiro-do-paraná) and Podocarpus /ambertii (pinheiro- bravo) athighlands of Mantiqueira, between São Paulo and Minas Gerais States.
