CRESCIMENTO DE MUDAS DE AROEIRA (ASTRONIUM URUNDEUVA (FR. ALL.) ENGL.) EM RESPOSTA À CALAGEM, FÓSFORO E POTÁSSIO

Abstract

This work had the objective to evaluate the effeds of levels of liming associated to different levels of phosphorusand potassium on the initial growth of the Aroeira plants (Astronium urundeuva). The soil used was a sample of the subsoil of Yellow-Red Distrophic Latosoil from Viçosa-MG. The doses of liming tested were 0,5; 2,0 and 4,0 meq of Ca" + Mg++for 1OOgof soil, The doses of phosphorus applied were O; 100; 300 and 600 mgjkg of soil and the ones of potassium were O; 100; 200 mgjkg of soil. The experiment in greenhouse was composed of a fatorial arrangement 3 x 4 x 3, in the outlining of blocks chosen by chance, with four repetitions. A hundred and ten days after the transplant, the height was messured, afterwards a cut was made to the aerial part of the plants for posterior determination of weight of the dry matter. The results aJlow the following conclusions: the growth of plants was limited to the use of sinaller dose of liming, combined with any of the other doses of phosphorus and potassium; the treatment that provided bigger answer of plants is composed of higher doses of ali the studied factores, however the most marked eftects were observed bythe point application of phosphorus and liming. The pothassium was the facto r of less importance of the aroeira plants. The process of liming with base in AI+++, Ca" and Mg++changeable, used in the state of Minas Gerais is not recommended for productions of aroeira plants.
